No matter which way the wind blew, and whereever David Linton
went with his music it became the high point of the scene in NYC.
In the late 70's he was a drummer of a noise/punk band led by
Eric Bogosien, survived the Glen Branca period without becoming
a drummer for Sonic Youth (perhaps he was a bit too old for that?)
and embraced the evil era of MIDI lighting a cigarette while
loading a floppy into his AKAI on stage. David moves on, changing
his gear and his hairstyle without losing his edge or his relevance;
he is always three years ahead of us. "ergonomix 9" presents David
Linton and his comrades, whose distinct sonic forms encompass the
map of hard electronic music.
Knights of Resignation (Lo Bit Landscapes):
Spiraling techno anthems and a ton of rugged beats.

Bubblyfish : "Swimming up the sound stream. Beats and frequencies bubble to
the surface. Gameboy by a gamegirl." Bubblyfish is Haeyoung Kim, performing
love experimental electronic dance and ambient music on a laptop, Gameboy,
and other electronic gear.
Frequent East-coast musical collaborator David Last builds evolving musical
jigsaw puzzles out of sound materials that have recently become lodged in
his computer's hard drive. Fractured remnants of recognizable sounds, new
compositions for violin, voices of friends, and dancehall-derived
pushpull-beats take on inevitable and spontaneous structures
while-U-listen.
mod_doktor is mild mannered old guy david (unitygain) linton 's evol adolescent
playyard bully 8 bit alter ego...
no really... 'mods' are an obsolete - low fi - early digital music format
that only seriously dented people could care about...
so the 'doktor' opens 'em up with his thumbs, pokes around a bit,
then sews 'em back together again with the tools he forgot still inside
you've all heard gameboys right? this is definitely worse....
punky l'ectro reggae outta space party indeed....
"whatcha do... whatcha do... when the light's go south?
try to drink alotta water till it all works out..." (anon. 16th century)
ergonomix, curated by koosil-ja, is an irregular event featuring artists
from New York City's electronic music and DJ underground. elan, a venue as
well as a concept, will host an evening of subculture study.
